NienteDiSpeciale, or Nothing special, when expressed sarcastically, signifies the exact opposite: something truly extraordinary, impressive, or highly significant, yet the intent is to downplay it, emphasizing just how remarkable it is while asserting a sense of humility.
Throughout the 80s, Italian sportswear and technical wear flourished in the UK, prominently showcased through football, but fundamentally rooted in individuals who sought to stand out, be different, and redefine what is extraordinary.
NienteDiSpeciale (NIENTE) is about recognizing the uniqueness of individual style and effort that often goes unnoticed by the majority but is appreciated by the select few. "If you know, you know."
We produce and rework unique sweatshirts and limited edition clothing that are bold in design and limited in number. We do not engage in mass production and specialize in one-of-a-kind creations.
Additionally, we are committed to celebrating the individuality and flair of the people who support us and embrace our brand identity.

I'm Stu, the designer behind NieteDiSpeciale. Niente provides me the space outside of my 9-5 to relax and express my creativity. While I have a commercial mindset, Niente is not primarily about making money (that's my day job). This focus allows me to prioritize quality and innovation in creating limited edition clothing rather than just margins. There's no art school or fashion heritage here; I'm just a grifter from a very creative family who loves individuality, eccentricity, and, of course, football—Wolves and Lazio. I came relatively late to the Osti universe, probably because we were skint. But I must admit, I have more jackets than a man probably needs.
During that challenging year of 2020, I found myself bored and started experimenting with Italian sportswear, particularly Stone Island and CP items I bought on Vinted. Some pieces worked, while others didn’t, but I got quite good at reimagining and reworking already decent garments into unique item, building an array of garment treatments and customisations.

I'm James, and my lifelong clothing obsession brings a sense of casual heritage to Niente. My passion for clothing, footwear, accessories, and watches began in the mid-1980s. As a keen tennis player, I loved the tracksuits and tennis shirts from Italian sportswear brands like Sergio Tacchini, Fila, and Ellesse.
Throughout the 90s, my style was heavily influenced by brands like Stone Island and CP Company. I traveled the UK with WBA, ventured to Italy with Lazio, and enjoyed many adventures following England football. Regular trips to Milan allowed me to acquire and distribute limited edition clothing, building a unique collection for myself and my friends.
If my memory serves me right, I didn’t spot Stone Island at matches until the 94-95 season and CP around 96-97. The first time I truly noticed it was when Tim Booth wore a fantastic parka on Top of the Pops.
Back then, the price of Stone Island was astronomical—£1000 felt like a fortune then and now! However, once I saw that iconic compass logo, there was no turning back for me. The design, innovative thinking, quality, and fit all signaled to me, 'this is where I want to be.'
I also have an extensive private collection of Stone Island and Cp company available for industry hire.

In 2025, James and I visited Bologna with our two 15-year-old sons. It was a flying visit, but as we do, we went big. We got tickets for the Bologna match against Lazio, booked the Massimo Osti Archive tour, and reached out to Fabio at Plurimus for a chance to visit his design studio. James had introduced me to Plurimus a few months earlier, and I fell in love with not just his jackets but his concept of Italian sportswear. No seasons, no sales, and a value base that structured everything he did. I was over the moon when Fabio responded, and we made our way over to his design studio. The visit, the conversation, and starting to build a relationship was amazing. Fabio navigated us through his studio and his collection, describing his influences and his experience of navigating an often cutthroat and ruthless scene.
I was bold! I showed him some of the garments I had reworked and talked him through the concept behind identity. He provided positive feedback and support. We left Bologna invigorated and began our Niente Viaggio.
But the universe had not finished this chapter!
Early summer, Fabio contacted us after reflecting on the images I had shared, expressing an interest in a collaboration on a limited edition clothing line featuring Plurimus X Niente sweatshirts. Wow!
Niente went into overdrive, and 30 unique sweatshirts were released on the 30th of July 2025, selling out in just 3 minutes. Images below.
